Unless otherwise noted, CPUs are for dual socket systems. The plan is to quad socket, hex, and octo way boxes after I make billions of dollars from advertising
Specint_rate2006 is not everything but should be taken into account when sizing. You must also look at frequency, vCPU:pCPU ratios, overcommit, wait and ready times, expected workload, budget, politics, and trust your gut
Added prices for ivy bridge and fixed a few typos
Added minimum CPU frequency, added a few more pointers on manual compare, added nehalems
Added ability to set current environment's average CPU usage, added old cpu comparison tool back in, add ability to filter on edition (platinum, gold, silver, bronze), added ability to set desired growth %,
Added ability to set min sockets, max sockets, and vCPU:pCPU ratio
Changed tool to recommend CPUs based on specintrate instead of manually trying to figure it out. If you want the old tool an archived version is available here but I do plan to add a manual comparison feature back in eventually
Added ability to show all CPUs
Added Intel's MSRP and price per specint_rate for Skylakes
